Justin Chon and Blue Bayou starting to receive blowback from Asian activists for "ghosting" and "exploiting" adoptees (self.aznidentity)

submitted 26 minutes ago by deseq

The criticism, which is starting to gain traction among Asian activist circles on Twitter and some semi-mainstream but low-profile activists, centers on the conduct of Justin Chon towards an actual adoptee who was deported, and how he "ghosted" them. It centers on how more of an effort has not been spent by the creators to pass the Adoptee Citizenship Act. It also criticizes how Justin Chon is "not an immigrant" and "not an adoptee". The idea is that "representation" alone is meaningless and that the film is exploiting real issues to make a profit. Are these criticisms valid? My gut feeling is that they are not.

Look at how this fggt pretends to be for pro-AM movies. This is the kind of ((((insidious))) cocksucker that should always be immediately caught and kicked out of Asian subs. Then again this is ai, the septic tank of cuckery, Lu-chasing, SJWism, and (((subverison))). The end-goal of ai is not fucking "pro-Asian", it is to supplant r/ asianamerican as the left's bitch.

go beat the fuck out of inferior shrimp dicks on the street. At least there are no consequences for doing real productive activism.
