Beautifully evocative painting. You can almost smell the tobacco and anise from the absinthe. The Impressionists had access to many substances and fancy spirits that must've helped fuel some of their creations.

I think Modigliani was a manic-depressive from extensive cocaina use and eventually jumped in the river. And on and on. I think, like William Burroughs said so long ago, all substances should be legalized as you probably do also. Would the OD rate go up. I doubt it, especially if everything were pure and not cut with that Chinese shit. Cheers and here's to getting out of the mind zone, temporarily anyway.

Legalize everything, save tax dollars from not enforcing drug laws and use that money towards treatment programs for those that need it. Legal and regulated drugs will be safer and of better quality. Here's to being dazed and confused. Cheers!

That's the way we have to go but to most people, it sounds insane. In the country I'm in now, legalization is unlikely anytime soon. These workaholics need time away from the stress of a strong work ethic. I usually get out of the country at least twice a year but right now that's impossible so getting a bit antsy over here. Good talking with you.
