Diogenes was a cynical philosopher from ancient Greece, who hated authority and social norms. After being expelled from his city he moved to Athens where he lived in a barrel mocking the other philosophers of the city. One day he met the famous emperor Alexander the Great. The emperor wanted to offer a wish to Diogenes and asked what he desired, Diogenes simply answered: "stand out of my light".
