Why is this funny :( I thought it was cool! I always had trouble with hands.

This is a good base to build hand gestures off of, or to make hands hold things as well, too! After you've set-up the hand, you can really play around with it's foundation if you're uncomfortable with picturing it in your mind's eye like I am. I found it super helpful when I first came across it.

    It seems simple, but the proportions for this trick have to be dead on.

    This, in my professional opinion (as an artist, animator, and creative director), is a clever trick and won't really help anyone to draw hands.

    Unfortunately there really are no shortcuts to "quick drawing". If you think I'm wrong, I dare you to try doing the illustration of the video and I guarantee you it won't be nearly as good.

    Proper study and understanding of proportions, forms, perspective, anatomy, and all the fundamentals of illustration are critical.
