I think her take is incredibly naive. There is a reason we want China and Russia contained. They aren't innocently doing their own thing and if we'd just left them alone everything would not be fine.

What do you think Russia and China are doing that need to be 'contained'? And how do you think the United States would feel if it were being encircled by another superpower?

It's no secret China wants to be the top superpower. It's no secret they're building up their military. It's no secret they started saber rattling over Taiwan recently. We're not arming Japan for the first time since WW2 for nothing.

Russia wants to be a big dog again, rebuild the empire, and they're onboard with China right now. We're seeing the teams for WW3 emerge and some people want to sit back and do nothing like that will make it better somehow. Appeasement does not work. It would just let them better prepare themselves before they make their play.

None of this is good for America. If you live somewhere else, maybe the yoke of the Chinese or Russians seems better to you. I have serious doubts about that.

That's easy: Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Syria. We have had many conflicts at this point.

It does, the US territories are: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Baker Island, Howland Island, Jarvis Island, Johnston Atoll, Kingman Reef, Midway Islands, Navassa Island, Palmyra Atoll, Wake Island, Bajo Nuevo Bank, Rosalind Bank, and Serranilla Bank.

But what I was speaking of were not territories, they were proxy wars involving spheres of influence. People are gonna carve up the world whether our philosophy is aligned with that reality or not.
