And then it turned out to be a massive disappointment that skipped over story integral arcs. There was something different about the animation this season too, less life? I might just be being overdramatic.

I haven't read the manga, but so far I like season 2 much less than season 1. Haven't noticed anything different with the animation though.

There's just a different feel to it overall, and the time skip excluded a little too much. The first season packed a lot of emotion and psychological tension, and honestly was amazing. Made in Abyss is a similar theme with a unique animation style, follows children adventuring into an abyss with several levels that have a variety of different creatures. It's beautiful and has that same kind of pull that Promised Neverland had in the first season.

Yep, I'm looking forward to S2 of Made in Abyss. Hopefully it delivers more than the second season of Neverland.
