It sounds like word has gotten out that if you wear red and tell them you're Canadian, you may be able to sneak through.

That's fucked up, they're practically Americans. Although nobody would bat an eye if they said Mexicans were turned away.

There's also the issue that thousands successful Afghan asylum seekers with Western passports, who couldn't possibly live there due to threat to their very lives, have coincidentally all been trapped there during brief trips they all took at the same time (honestly not been living there for years while claiming benefits and renting out their house in the West).

It's paybacks. If you have ever been caught up for 2 hours by an english hating francophone douanes agent at Trudeau Airport in Montreal you'll understand.
