Some ideas:

• First off, try to consume as little passive entertainment as possible. Focus on entertainment that improves you, or at least is active in some way. Ideally, you should be spending time with others rather than alone as well.

• The best kind of entertainment is self-improvement activities that you can do with other people - such as exercising, sports, creating art, fishing, camping, and other creative projects.

• The second-best kind of entertainment is active and participatory things you can do with others. Going out to restaurants, concerts, playing pool, board games like D&D, small parties, Jackbox party games, card games, and even some video games are examples. Anything that you can participate in that leads to social experiences you can tell a story about.

• Then there's more passive experiences, like movies, shows, books, and video games. Ideally movies and shows are experienced with others. Books can be great as long as they're educational, just don't get too obsessive and neglect other activities. For all of these, focusing on renowned classics that promote good values is best.

• Books: There are many excellent classics in the public domain, including works of philosophy, history, and fiction. You can find many of these on archive.org, Project Gutenberg, or b-ok.org.

• Movies and shows: Again, focus on renowned classics. Two I can think of right off the bat are Lord of the Rings and The Godfather. There is some new stuff that promotes good values, but it is rare. Avoid Netflix and popular streaming services. Some super old-school movies are in the public domain and I might make a post about them. Ask around if your friends have DVDs or Blu-Rays. There are also ways to get movies for free online.

• Video games: I don't recommend a lot of video games since I see them as time-wasters. Some multiplayer video games can be decent though - for example, Minecraft is great, and allows you to create your own stories and worlds with friends. For solo games, Deus Ex and Bioshock 1 have good plots.
