What do you think of the vehicle protests of Michigan governor Whitmer's lockdown policy?

I think they were mostly positive. The takeaway for many people seemed to be that authoritarian lockdowns, and Governor Whitmer, are bad. The protests also did not cause harm to anyone else (which would have turned the public against them) and were not risky for the participants.

The only downsides were people who got out of their cars and gathered in crowds without masks, the potential for blocked emergency vehicles (which may have been overblown), and people giving interviews to news media who didn't have the right talking points.

the powers that shouldn't be are trying to scare us with this planned-emic. calling their bluff by showing we are not scared or intimidated is the way to go. they did the right thing.

It would be interesting to see if it inspired other protests around the country, it looks like it did.

I'm in favor of them. I'm also worried that they're arguably illegal and thus ban-bait here. I would like to see saidit tolerate calls for peaceful protests in public places even if banned.

I haven't heard of any being explicitly declared illegal, and many are unquestionably legal, e.g. people who protested inside their vehicles while maintaining social distancing. They are also nonviolent, so I see no issue
