MEN WITHOUT HATS - The safety dance (Long 12'' Version Video Clip) (4:40) ~ alekosg,Mar 15, 2018

Story of the 1980s hit the Safety Dance with Ivan Doroschuk | Premium | Professor of Rock (12:11) ~ Professor of Rock, Sep 10, 2020

" 'The Safety Dance' is a song by Canadian new wave/synth-pop band Men Without Hats, released in Canada in 1982 as the second single from Rhythm of Youth. The song was written by lead singer Ivan Doroschuk after he had been kicked out of a club for [punk] pogo dancing. "

" Doroschuk stated that 'it wasn't a question of just being anti-nuclear, it was a question of being anti-establishment.' "

Cool background information. I never knew that they are Canadians, always thought Australians or British.

My favourite Men Without Hats album is Pop Goes The World (in a playlist).

Maybe being Canadian helped, but I actually have several of their rare vinyl pressings. This winter I'm going to try to sell a lot of my "collectibles" before the economy completely implodes.

Ey, I'm lucky to have parents and older siblings with good taste in music, giving me all their old school vinyl albums (Generation X, Pink Floyd, Eric Burden, Malcolm McLaren, Depeche Mode, Stones, Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk..). I won't sell anything but keep them for future generations who will appreciate them. Btw, thank you for the playlist link.

Stock up on food, water, gasoline and medicine, we are going into hard times and most of us are not prepared. Invest in land, a cabin or a compound for your family and closest friends. Learn how to become self sustainable, growing your own food. We are facing rough times.

You might get a kick out of this. Men Without Hats' Pop Goes The World album features the song Pop Goes The World which features a Bonhomme. That video came out around the same time as Pink Floyd's Learning To Fly. In a MwoH interview Ivan claimed that the First Nations guy who jumps off the cliff is the same guy in the Bonhomme suit.

I'd forgotten about this Malcolm McLaren & Catherine Deneuve - Paris Paris and always meant to find an elusive sensual ambient remix. It might have been this one but I don't recall now: Malcolm McLaren (Feat. Catherine Deneuve) - Paris Paris (Lingerie Noir Mix By Secret Knowledge). I actually think it was "The Emotional Curvatone" one - unfortunately not on YouTube. Or is it!!! : Secret Knowledge V Youth ‎– The Full B-Side

All your prepper ideas are great. I got no money honey. I'm building an indoor basement garden this winter and planning for more in the spring. Yes rough times ahead.

One of my all time classics. Listen to it at least thrice a month.
