Rum is okay, but it's so hard to drink in mass quantities. Too sugary.

So, what do you recommend for mass quantities? It all comes back to vodka, my favorite and I'm only guessing but maybe yours. You have to drink a helluva lot to get a vodka hangover. If you do have a hangover, just shake your head and take one more shot and it's gone. Julian knew how to drink—just stay totted up all day, never getting shitfaced and retaining your equilibrium. Damn that was a heck of a series.

Well yeah, vodka. Cut out all the unnecessary shit and drink diluted ethanol.

Bourbon and old scotch are my favorites, vodka is the most useful. Well, arguably pure grain spirits like Everclear have more uses, but diluting them down to vodka strength doesn't taste quite right for some reason. Which is a shame because otherwise you need a mixer and that also falls into the unnecessary category in my book.

I have drank straight everclear. Usually only when paid to. It's not pleasant and fairly dangerous.

One night in high school we had some Everclear left over and somebody poured it out on the road (back country hardtop) and we stood around watching it burn for a while. When we drove off, it was still burning. Did you ever make PJ (Purple Jesus) with it? That's how I met my first girlfriend. Everclear even made it into a Jerry Jeff Walker song.

Might have been feeding off the black top. They used to use alcohol candles to warm petroleum lamps for artic explorations cause oil needs to be warm to combust.

I have an alcohol stove for camping. I mainly use it as a hard warmer in cold weather till I get the big fire going.

Purple Jesus

I used to mix it with Fruitopia, had the odd effect of totally neutralizing the taste of ridiculously high abv drinks. Not sure they make that anymore. But it's very similar except not carbonated.

Everclear is also a pretty cool Texas band.
