This isn't necessarily a bad thing. I am a supporter of welfare payments and the like so long as they are actually being used strategically in a way to benefit society. For example I think society might well benefit from welfare payments to stay at home parents, essentially paying people to have kids and raise them.

But the idea I have isn't "people are marginalized so need money to be compensated for bad things that happened to them"

Simply, pay people for behavior that benefits society in order to incentivse said behavior. Positive reinforcement.

The issues come in place when you incentivise negative behaviors like joblessness. I'm fully in favor of safety nets to the poor or unemployed, disability payments to those unable to work fully, any other programs as I do think they benefit society as a whole but none of these things are desirable and you are incentivising them with the payments so strict conditions need to be in place to prevent people who are not intended recipients from dragging the system.

I literally see no argument as to why trans people should get payments on account of simply being trans. If that's the case, should not Trump supporters get payments simply for being Trump supporters? They are also marginalized and called names. I see no difference.

A lot of the people identifying as transgender hold extremely stereotypical views on sex roles. Which is why I think personally you tend to see a lot of it coming out of the military and other places that would be considered to have more conservative cultures.

I should think most normal well adjusted people understand that not all men like beer and football (most do) but I think when you've got someone who already has low self esteem and self image issues, and the cultural environment they are in gives messages of "real men are like XYZ" or "Real women are XXZ" or whatever, they internalize it as something like "I don't like beer, therefore I am a woman" and then psychologically they just go and embrace all those stereotypes of women they have.

I think it's primarily a mental illness surrounding issues of self identity and, likely issues stemming from a lack of a feeling of belonging in their dominant culture. And they've yet to learn self actualization and internal validation so instead seek external validation through the means of cross dressing. They might experience a kind of "gender disphoria" but I think it's entirely caused by issues unrelated to gender itself. Contrasted with cases of gender dysphoria where the person is having distress with their physical form which is I think a different condition.
