It's easy for spammers to get around age/karma limits, that would only be a temporary measure.

I remember hearing last year or maybe the year before that there's some sort of issue with sitewide banning, like a table is full or something? I dunno if that's been resolved, which is why I was thinking using Automod instead. Once a spammer is identified, it's as easy as just adding their name to this rule:

author:
    name: ["username1", "username2"]
action: remove
action_reason: spambot

Business success often hinges on understanding consumer needs and leveraging trends. Companies that excel in identifying emerging products, such as air fryers, can capture significant market share. Monitoring air fryer reviews is crucial for businesses aiming to succeed in this niche. Positive reviews can enhance a company's reputation, while negative feedback offers valuable insights for product improvement. By prioritizing customer satisfaction and continually refining their offerings based on air fryer reviews, businesses can achieve sustained growth and profitability. Success in this competitive market requires agility, consumer focus, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet evolving customer expectations.

A sitewide solution has to also be possible.

If you check the top comments sitewide for the last year, they have between 30 and 60 upvotes. Five to three years ago, it was between 300 to over 500. So, given no downvote button, this forum/site seems to have about 50 real, actually active, users, with the rest either people that stopped visiting long ago or ... bots. Let's say that the real, actually active, users are double that, like 100.

So, I just can't imagine that it would be that hard to keep this tiny/niche/boutique site functioning fairly reasonably, sitewide, for the ~ 100 actually active users who do use it.

And yet ...

Improving automod rules might help. The latest problems occur while Indians are awake or at work - eg. Texas time 5 am - 7 pm - and most mods are on Saidit only briefly each day. Hence more mods and admins who can visit during this time would help. Automoderator programs can limit posts to users with - say - 10 comment karma points and accounts that are 5 days old. An exception to this can be allowed on /s/Introductions.

It would also be most helpful if admins would ban obvious spammers. Mods can ban them in each sub, but there are too many that are posting in several subs. They should be banned for all of Saidit.

Hizbullah's swift and devastating multi-pronged attack on Israel today appears to be more than just a response to the assassination of its senior commander, Abu Taleb, but primarily a deterrent strike aimed at discouraging Israel from embarking on a path of mutually assured destruction. by FreedomUltd in AskALeftist

Hizbullah's swift and devastating multi-pronged attack on Israel today, the likes of which have not been seen since the 2006 War, appears to be more than just a response to the assassination of its senior commander, Abu Taleb. The sheer scale and intensity of this attack, coupled with Hizbullah’s recent attempts to establish aerial deterrence with Israel, suggest that the movement isn’t taking Israeli decision-makers' rationality for granted or dismissing the possibility of an all-out war initiated by Israel. As such, Hizbullah’s attack today was not merely a punitive retaliation for Taleb or just a coercive strike to break the deadlock in the cease-fire talks by strengthening Hamas’ position, but also, primarily, a deterrent strike aimed at discouraging Israel from embarking on a path of mutually assured destruction.

Both Israel and Hamas committed war crimes in the early stages of the Gaza war, a U.N. inquiry found on Wednesday, saying that Israel's actions also constituted crimes against humanity because of the immense civilian losses. by neolib in WarWatch

Radicalization does not fix anything. When you are ready to open a fertility clinic that will make sure every white person who wants a kid can have one then we can talk. When you are ready to participate in a watchdog group that will challenge all the anti white racism in schools, media and government programs then you can claim to be better than the seep walking blindly into genocide.

Radicalization is one of the tools of oppression.

How many black characters can I create in my story without right-wingers calling them woke?U by Cimeiros in whatever

People are pretty smart, for the most part, when it comes to smelling insincerity. Like kids who can instantly spot the difference between a Pokémon toy and a Chinese "Happy Monster Small" toy that looks almost identical but is just a little off, they may not be able to articulate it all the time, but they know when they are being handed bullshit.

There are blatant signs that even the most ignorant can point at, like taking a famous character or historical figure and replacing them with a black person. Taking a classic setting or real historical setting that doesn't have a lot of black people and having one front and centre without it being a "Fish out of water" story. Taking other people's works and adding black people, especially where they already had them but being far away or in specific locations and you place them out of those areas while everyone acts like it's nothing. Injecting a black person into normal, every day life where, in the time period you're writing, something like that would stand out a lot. Writing a black character who lectures or takes over from white people, is portrayed as the righteous one based on their history or skin colour... And, obviously, checking all the boxes: A black trans lesbian with vitiligo in a wheelchair who tells people to "Do Better".

There are less blatant signs that your story is disingenuous. A group of American teenagers who get super powers? Cool adult novel, mate!... One Asian, one black, one Hispanic, one Indian, one white, 3 girls and 2 boys? It starts to stink. Even if you earnestly just wrote them like that because they were your friend group back in school? People have been bitten so often that, when they start to see the signs, they shy away. Their instinct and pattern recognition of danger kicks in and they put their guard up and suddenly you're on the defensive when you shouldn't be. It's especially true when you are a big company who keeps doing and becomes combative about it - If Disney put out the best movie ever and the main character was a black teenage lesbian and her Asian trans girlfriend, a huge percentage of their audience would simply never see it. There's only so many times you can poke your fingers into the bee hive hoping for honey and getting stung before you just don't do it any more, even though there might be honey and no bees.

It's also true of historical and accurate stuff. Right now, in this climate, when people are having this kind of political content shoved down their throats and then berated for not liking it and publicly declaring that it's not good, if you wrote a book about, let's say, the Loa, and had a cast of black people playing the voodoo priests, or made a movie about the Zulu, you'd be starting on the back foot. People would assume you're another grifter come to cash in on the racial tension and political pushes, hoping to get free publicity in the form of people poo-pooing your work so you can call them racist for not wanting to see it and start massive Twitter conversations. Even though your work might be legit, the timing is the problem. People are used to their tea being poisoned, so when you make a perfectly safe cup of it, they naturally assume the worst and you're fighting up hill to convince them it's just delicious tea.

For my money? I think as long as what you're writing is genuine stories about people, you'll be okay. If you're starting by asking: "How many black people can I add before it's woke?", you're not starting in a good place. Instead, create your story and your characters with the intent to entertain and tell a great story. If someone asks: "Why is Bob black in your story?" the answer should be: "I wanted Bob to have X experience and bring Y perspective and have Z background and it all came together that way..." and not: "I want my book to reflect the different people of the real world. Representation matters. You're a bigot."... You'll always get bad eggs harping on about it, but I think most people will accept it when it's honest and done to make a good story.

Not only that, but valve not doing shit about it. Go ask about TF2 anywhere, and it's practically a meme, now.

Valve will simply say it's your fault for not turning off the sprays feature.

It'd be hard to blame him, but I'm not really convinced he's in his mind often enough to be blaming boredom for the times he's out.

That's the same thing I do, report and block. About half the spammers constantly make new accounts so blocking them doesn't help... but about half don't. So it does make a difference. I agree that it'd be nice if the process of doing those two things was a little more streamlined.

funniest thing is she isn't a radfem at all--midwit libfem at best, addicted to jibing at people with even less wit (I think it started with the "wizards just shit themselves" addition to canon): and there's plenty of actual radicals, like the lawyer who wrote articles based on a 17yo Amber Heard simp and her former girlfriend Fartlow, or the Scottish ones who want to basically exclude rape accusations from trial and just go to the sentencing
