I made a post about this matter (where you can also find the full quote) here. That was six months ago and it got buried in my post history. I'm making this post as a more permanent way of referring people to this information. The gist of the matter is that the concept of a secret rivalry between Freemasonry and Jesuitism has a basis in academics. Here you can see Frances Yates stating it matter of factly, and she wasn't just a mainstream historian of religion, but even a canonical one.
