Feel free to post things here for folks to stumble across.

Would you like to be self-employed?

It took magnora7 and d3rr almost a year and a half to just have the expenses covered by donations on SaidIt.

Every YouTuber and blogger out there started from nothing.

You don't get something for nothing. There's always the risk of failure. If you don't try you'll never know what greatness feels like.

/s/SaidItWeekly is yours to build.

It won't be easy and it will require tenacity. It's very possible and others have done similar things. Provide a reliable quality service and you can be rewarded.

There's no policy on SaidIt that prohibits asking for donations for your efforts. If others help I'm sure you can organize a fair system to all. Ideally fully transparent, but that's up to you.

If your work is good enough, perhaps with character, humour, impact, truth, and a strong vision, then maybe, just maybe, /u/JasonCarswell will consider animating it, to bring more eyes and potential income to share.

NOT FOR PAY. Yet. We can discuss setting up an online workers coop of sorts and how we may use and/or divide any income after the show is released and pulls in donations, funding, rewards, etc. is a very old and outdated article that is in desperate need of overhaul to more accurately reflect the much more precise vision I now have. When that article is revised and I'm feeling better about the project outline I intend to return here to remove these caveats and excuses.

Possitiions needed (many positions may overlap):

  • management - for cat herding volunteers (until we can pay them), transparent setup, and coordination of this utopian open crowd sourced online worker coop

  • social media management - to post and promote on several social media platforms and help wrangle donations, cryptocurrencies, etc. with 100% transparency

  • sound engineer - to make it sound good, a unique sound design might be nice, maybe music, and unless reliable good vocal actors are cast then I, /u/JasonCarswell, may have to do the voices of the young woman and old man, and that will require some serious audio effects. I'm even considering making one or both characters cyborgs with a vocoder sound. Also of note, I really love the voices of John Huston (ie. as Gandalf in The Hobbit 1977) and Leonard Nimoy. I just LOVE the vocal treatment of the opening and closing sample for this music track by Way Out West "Earth". "The whole surface of the earth seemed changed--melting and flowing under my eyes." is a quote from H.G. Wells' "The Time Machine". With a mid-Atlantic accent, it sounds like John Huston or Leonard Nimoy who actually read for an abridged audiobook version of "The Time Machine" that did not use that passage. I don't even know if it's possible, but I'd give almost anything to have my old man sound like that. I have no preconceived ideas about the young woman vocal treatment. The alternate version of Way Out West's "Earth (Waveform remix)" does not have the processing on the mans voice.

  • voice actors - old man + young woman

  • writing, perhaps in iambic pentameter

  • storyboards

  • 3D - modelling, rigging, animating, lighting, texturing, rendering, composting

  • video wrangler

  • promotion, design, web design, etc.
