‘Finding the Truth’ About Gov't Censorship is Not Easy, Journalists Tell U.S. Congress | A whistleblower has come forward with an explosive new trove of documents exposing a global censorship program. by stickdog in WayOfTheBern

Excerpt:

Last week’s hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government featured testimony from two investigative journalists about newly released documents.

Journalists Michael Shellenberger and Matt Taibbi discussed the “CTIL Files” — which refer to the Cyber Threat Intelligence League, or CTI League, a key player in the “Censorship-Industrial Complex.”

The files are based on documents received from an unnamed but “highly credible” whistleblower, according to the journalists, and reveal more details about what they first referred to in March, during previous testimony before the committee, as the “Censorship-Industrial Complex.”

THE CTIL FILES #1

“Many people insist that governments aren't involved in censorship, but they are. And now, a whistleblower has come forward with an explosive new trove of documents, rivaling or exceeding the Twitter Files and Facebook Files in scale and importance.” — Michael Shellenberger, 28 Nov 2023 (X) Two additional witnesses testified last week: Rupa Subramanya, a Canadian journalist who writes for The Free Press, and Olivia Troye, a former Homeland Security and Counterterrorism adviser who worked for the Office of Vice President Mike Pence.

The findings contained within the first release of the “CTIL Files” were a focus of the hearings, including allegations that the federal government engaged in “public-private partnerships” that outsourced censorship to private entities to circumvent First Amendment free speech protections.

Subramanya warned that encroaching censorship in the U.S. may lead to a situation similar to that of Canada, where many categories of speech are restricted.

Subcommittee to subpoena Biden administration officials

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chair of the subcommittee, said during his opening remarks, “One of the most egregious forms of the weaponization that this subcommittee has worked to expose is the coercion of social media companies by the federal government,” crediting the “Twitter Files” with casting light on such examples.

“We wouldn’t know anything that we know today, we wouldn’t have learned and had the reports we’ve had, without the work of Matt Taibbi, Michael Shellenberger [and] other journalists who wrote the Twitter Files and … exposed these efforts,” Jordan said.

“The path for getting this information out has not been easy. Finding the truth never is. Instead, we were obstructed at almost every turn.”

Jordan said that while the subcommittee has previously shed light on multiple instances of federal government censorship of speech, and has “more information forthcoming,” it is nevertheless “impossible to get a full accounting of the government’s censorship efforts” without the cooperation of the “government actors involved.”

He said the subcommittee subpoenaed former White House officials Robert Flaherty and Andrew Slavitt, noting they “have so far refused to sit for interviews despite being directly implicated in emails between the White House and tech companies.”

Hahahah absolutely.

Yes I've eaten at the Steer and recommend it to everyone that goes there. If you haven't reserved a booth it's kind of cool. You actually have to reserve them way in advance unless you get lucky, they are rarely available. It's one of my favorite places there. I've had the ravioli too many times and never had the strip. I have reservations there when I go in Feb. They also have a very rare 40 year port wine from Grahams. Fuck it's expensive but when I'm expensing I'll get one, hahaha.

Eating at Hells Kitchen for the first time this trip. I can't wait.

Lawrys is probably my favorite restaurant there. I used to live in Chicago and the one there closed, now there's only a few left in the US and the one in Vegas never disappoints. For example, I ate a steak at the Flamingo, had to sit at a bar with a shitty bartender and paid 130 dollars for my meal. I didn't really care, I was hungry and we were pressed for time. You can pay that at Lawrys and have your table pulled out for you by the host, prime rib carved table side, chilled silverware changed out and delivered to you by the waitstaff, salad mixed tableside, and roll yourself out of there for the same price. Best place around.

It is sad, and I'm glad I got to experience it when it was about the gambler and their good time.

Surprise: People With Gender Dysphoria Are Mentally Ill, and Remain So After Transition by P-38lightning in TumblrInAction

[–]JulienMayfair [score hidden]  (0 children)

One of the problems with transition is that the transitioner still knows who and what they are, and they know that, for the most part, everyone else knows, too. For example, did anyone not notice the transwoman on Jeopardy yesterday, the one who was taller than everyone else in the studio and had obviously male shoulders, a male voice, and male facial bone structure? They know they're pretending. They know that everyone else knows they're pretending. It's corrosive to one's state of mind over the years.

Yup, my last trip we stayed at the Encore. We went to The Peppermill for breakfast and had an "encounter" with a homeless person on the walk back around 9:00am. (We are 5 hours ahead here so we tend to be up early on Vegas time) Everything was fine but it was definitely uncomfortable.

There are a few reasonable places to eat but they are getting pretty rare. Ever eat at the Golden Steer by the Strat? My favorite place to eat in Vegas! It's not cheap but man is it good! I recommend the deep fried ravioli for an appetizer and the New York Strip!

Anyway, other then some free drinks there were no comps but lots of resort fees... We tried going downtown where you get a little more value but it was just depressing... The circles where street performers normally are were just filled with basket wavers... there were people arguing and yelling... even the cab ride there AND back was more crazy then usual...

As for gambling, 6/5 Black Jack? Really? How about triple zero roulette? Absolute bullshit. Like they need an even bigger advantage! Both are games I loved to play but I won't touch them under those odds.

Really it's too bad. There are things I'm going to miss there but they did it to themselves with their greed.

You gave a detailed explanation and that could help people decide if this is the way to go.

Thank you, that was my hope. I think a real life experience can help people. I also believe in this technology as it's effective and can save money.

I 99% agree with about debt but I make a distinction between consumer debt and necessity debt.

Consumer debit is one of the worst things in our society. Credit cards and the like. For most it should be avoided at all costs. I do have a credit card but in the 15 years I've been married we have never missed paying it off each month. A lot of people don't have that discipline and fall for the trap.

However, I do believe in debt for a home, a car and an education as they are a necessity in this day and age. All these things must be reasonable and useful though. Going 100K into debt for a useless "basket weaving" education is ridiculous. Going 20K into debt to be an electrician is worth it in my opinion.

Going back to the heat pump loan, I took this on for two reasons. First, I 100% could pay it off with the stroke of a pen. I have the money and was planning to use it for this purpose when the program was suggested to me. Second, the 0% interest. If it had been even .5% I would have passed. Given both these reasons I don't see the harm.

Here is the interview with New Zealand intelligence agent who recently leaked death rates associated with the COVID19™ vaccines. He has been arrested by New Zealand authorities. Further reports suggest the journalist has also been arrested. by xolotltlalo in conspiracy

Also, I saw that the death stats were manipulated with anyone who died with COVID was counted as a COVID death, even if they got hit by a truck, but tested positive for COVID.

Early on the pandemic, that definition was used, and it is useful for tracking whether and where the disease was controlled or spreading.

But it's less useful for CBA of interventions, and gradually states changed to "died of COVID" from died with COVID". For instance: https://www.coloradoan.com/story/news/2020/05/16/colorado-changes-how-coronavirus-deaths-state-counted/5198485002/

The problem with that is the opposite. You get an undercount when people die at home.

But people also looked at total excess deaths to try to get a handle on the number of deaths of people who were never autopsied that died of COVID.

In the end it's always going to be an estimate, but a lot of people have put a lot of effort into making it an unbiased estimate.

Again, if those death stats aren't readily available, I question why.

There's less money for investigating the cause of death now that we've lost the war, and are just accepting that it will kill people each year like the flu does. The vaccine helps a lot with that, of course.

In include refusal in that so military, cops, government, corporations - they either outright fired people for refusal or found a way to get rid of them.

The safety of your other employees is important.

No one ever cared about the flu shot in the way they did about COVID and I find that suspect.

They guess the strain or a few strains of the flu shot each year. Some years it helps. Some years they miss. The Covid vaccine is 95% effective for the vaccines available now, and so has a real effect on deaths.

Interesting video.... It seems like she was seeing the spiritual realm with her inner eye. She seemed to think she was no longer herself, but one with everything around her. This matches the scriptures, which say we are all one in Christ Jesus.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female. We are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28 However, if someone rejects Jesus and wants nothing to do with him, where will he be when he dies? I believe he will no longer see the beauty indescribable, but be in a dark and horrible place. Why would we want to reject such a beautiful existence in him, where there is love, peace, and joy?

Only the rich can afford electric vehicles and all the tax money is involuntarily taken from the middle class (at threat of armed thugs throwing you in a concrete box for the rest of your life). Only the middle class pays taxes, so they pay for these nice outlets for the rich. The Blackmail Infrastructure Bill, where Democrats forced these crazy and wasteful gambles through by forcing legislators to accept the insanity, by yet again attaching their hair-brained partisan pork to the government spending bill, then hurting America until legislators cave to their demands... all while they and their weaponized media convince the stupid public that Republicans were shutting the government down by blocking the spending bill. Same trick every damn spending bill. It would be nice if Democrats would stop making such a habit of side-stepping democracy. Maybe if their policies and bills weren't reckless, dangerous, and had some support from the public; they wouldn't have to cheat democracy every damn time.

I'm sorry, I have no insight to the inside baseball stuff. I know that there are a collection of "red boards" of which there are a few. It always seems that most people there know who is who and mention them in joking manners (Akins is one) but I haven't the foggiest.

I first discovered it simply because ArchieLuxury had a hand-written note on his fridge in the background of his vids. That was f169 and that went away. There have been the predictable iterations. I think F2 board is still up but I was banned from that permanently (never bothered to try to circumvent it.) No problems with the other two. I think f3 stumbled a bit so I don't give it much thought but it looks like that is up, too.
