Setting aside issues, and the connection to Reddit. My advice is, look for other single Mother's to move in with to support your families. Then branch out with friends interested in your group and feel out working men from there. Make it clear as to whether or not you are looking to Mother another child with these men, and if you wish to expand your family, or if you are looking for stability, or simple dating.

As I do not have a Reddit account, I can not relay this message directly to this person. But that is my advice for this individual.

Look at the energy consumption chart again. "Renewables" didn't arrive until the year 2000, but total consumption dropped since then - i.e., people used less energy, probably because industry left and went overseas (where who knows what emissions or pollution it generates.) All they did since they arrived was displace nuclear.

I posted a whole thread that debunks that naive GHG chart. Wind and solar are scams, they're also not renewable or sustainable. We simply don't have the materials to replace fossil fuels. Nuclear is the only solution.

"Race isn't real" by mustardo2 in debatealtright

[–]Dragonerne [score hidden]  (0 children)

That you can subdivide a race into smaller races doesn't negate the concept of race. The German race and the Anglo race are part of the bigger Caucasian race.

That you can display different shades of blue doesn't negate the concept of the color blue. They are all part of the bigger overarching color "blue".

Choosing color to represent race is a modern invention and it fits into the social constructionist argument that race is only skin deep. It is in fact misleading, because someone who has black skin from India is not part of the same race as someone who has black skin from Congo, neither does a light skinned Korean come from the same race as a light skinned German.

From around 1600? The first ancient human we have DNA from is genetically European, that's 45000 years ago.

there's no specific, objective genotype that represents the concept of "Asian" or "native American."

Sure there is. It's called genetic clusters. Ask an unsupervised computer algorithm to categorize humans, and it will group Asians/Mongoloids together into one cluster based on their genetics.

Johnson, 46, is a centimillionaire tech entrepreneur who has spent most of the last three years in pursuit of a singular goal: don’t die. During that time, he’s spent more than $4 million developing a life-extension system called Blueprint, in which he outsources every decision involving his body to a team of doctors, who use data to develop a strict health regimen to reduce what Johnson calls his “biological age.” That system includes downing 111 pills every day, wearing a baseball cap that shoots red light into his scalp, collecting his own stool samples, and sleeping with a tiny jet pack attached to his penis to monitor his nighttime erections. Johnson thinks of any act that accelerates aging—like eating a cookie, or getting less than eight hours of sleep—as an “act of violence.”

I think Johnson is a self-absorbed pinhead.

Blatantly wrong. That's the definition for transgender. A transsexual goes through a very difficult process to change their sex characteristics as much as possible. Which should only be done in the case that something is wrong with their brain to make that necessary.

Nothing it says is unbelievable, but anything from like 0.1% to 25% is all about equally believable.

It seems almost impossible to get the kind of data you'd need to dig into this without having an inside source. Maybe as these sorts of people retire more will speak out, but that's about the only hopeful thought I can muster.

At least if we define trans as someone who now presents and lives (in society) like the opposite sex.

I wouldn't even go that far. Because it's kind of sexist, and it's important to note that there are people who are probably a little messed up in the head from some kind of intersex malfunction, which is what makes them need to change their bodies (as much as possible). This happens to a tiny minority and isn't something you should wish on anyone. It pretty much destroys any chance of a happy life. And if you give a normal person treatments meant for that condition, guess what condition that person acquires?

That's a really interesting perspective. I'm so fucking happy to be on saidit. This is literally the first time in months, maybe years, that I've seen a really interesting perspective.

I'm from a very different background from you. Almost everyone I know is a Democrat and/or a liberal. I only personally know one conservative and three or four moderates. So to me, 2020 and 2023 feel... kind of the same as each other, honestly. I can't see a sea change there. And I guess that's because I used to talk to conservatives and Republicans online almost every day, but after the the January 6 event they sort of vanished/were forced off the mainstream Internet and I can't get into their spaces because I can't adopt their writing styles or pass their loyalty tests. So I literally don't know what they're like anymore.

I really do feel like 2013 was the last time things felt sane. I really see it in the TV shows. Coming into 2014, BoJack Horseman and Game of Thrones and Orange is the New Black were fun and smart. They existed to entertain. They were well-written. Within a few years, they were all grotesque parodies of themselves, falling over themselves to explain why their early seasons were Not Okay. And almost every word written by television/movie/game writers in the last ten years has been absolute fucking shit. It's like it's become a social crime to write something fun and smart.

Before 2014, I would have vociferously disagreed that Democrats were threatening our freedoms. They generally believed in free speech. They believed in definance, in punk rock attitudes, in living and letting live. And then within a few short years, they didn't believe in any of that stuff anymore and somehow acted like nothing changed. They're completely blind to what is absolutely, blatantly obvious to me.

2014-2016 were.. Tumblr. Sarkeesian. GamerGate. Elliot Rodger. Michael Brown. Obergefell. The Alt-Right. Caitlyn Jenner. And topping off the whole shit sundae: Donald Trump. And they just lost sight of everything they used to believe in. Within a few years, they went from freedom-loving Americans to paranoid authoritarians.

That's how I see it, anyway. And I think it's fascinating that you're seeing a similar sea change in the Right over the past three years - one that's totally invisible to me.

For what it's worth, I suspect I'd like you just fine. That and five bucks will get you a cup of coffee.

Have you considered that men on average feel they need to resort to violence more than women? Not only are struggling men never given any compassion or assistance even on the verge of death, but our toxic culture pressures them to act violent to prove their worthiness. Otherwise they aren't "real" men, and get treated worse than pests. Not to mention, men are also the target of far more threats than women; I know all you ever hear about is women getting raped by men, but the fact is men are far more likely to get assaulted or killed. Just so you know, men also feel unsafe walking alone at night; but you'll never hear it from them, because admitting it is one of the many things that will get them assaulted.

Michael Brown from Ferguson doesn't get enough mention.

The police officer chased him down with a hail of bullets, while he ran for his life in flip flops. He lost the first flip flop dozens of feet back, before he was laid in a pool of his blood with 4 bullets in him, and the finally cop caught up to him, then at nearly point blank, he finished him off.

Too bad it wasn't an election year. No calls for justice from Democrats, smeared in the media, and a white washed Hunter Biden-like trial for the cop. No one even rallied a riot or even cared to steer the BLM into breaching the white house fence like in 2016, burning historic buildings in DC, nor holding state workers hostage in a surrounded building.

Current practice is definitely political. They're placing all importance on "social transition" and "identity", something that is just made up sexist bullshit. And because of that, people who need treatments can't get them, so they kill themselves, and people who have no business getting them get them, and then they kill themselves because they gave themselves sex dysphoria. I don't remember that at all. Keep in mind, almost everyone I know is on the Republican side. Until June 2020 they were mostly moderate libertarians concerned with keeping religious and speech freedom intact, even if it might be "offensive" to some. Rarely did I ever come across a genuinely bigoted one; at most it was prudish religious women who have to be better than thou in every way, making some "eww" remarks about gays. At that time every serious problem came from the Democratic side, which was pretty much the same as it is now, maybe slightly less insane.

Then there was George Floyd. And some of the worst riots you could ever imagine, which were totally not staged by deep state agents. And the Republicans flipped like a switch. Suddenly, the Democrats were no longer threatening our freedom and making 1984 a reality; they're now apprently a bunch of "degenerate" anarchists, who threaten our glorious regime and social order. A huge hatred for anyone Democrats claim are oppressed was also sparked at that time, which includes above all anything LGBT-related, and even black people. And they're pretending like nothing ever happened, that this is how it's always been; and the Democrats of course have no problem playing along with what is basically free propaganda for them. Now, I get called a traitor simply for believing in what we have always believed in. I have little doubt that the whole George Floyd incident was used to make government the good guy for 99% of the population.

It's terrifying, seeing everyone I know suddenly think things like "women shouldn't vote", and anyone who disagrees is working for whoever is their biggest enemy at the moment. If I manage to get them to admit that this came out of nowhere, they'll make up some excuse for why it's a necessary evil; otherwise they'll claim we've always been this way and that I must have demons or something. Speaking of which, 99% of the Christians are no longer Christians, instead they see Christianity a useful tool for building a social order, and Jesus as an example of what NOT to do. Not all of them will admit that, but step into any of their spaces anymore and it's blatantly obvious. They're more aligned with paganism now, and nature religions and fertility cults. And everyone who doesn't follow along is going to Hell.

I don't even feel safe saying what I think anymore, something I always felt I could do before. It's also strange seeing some of them praise fascism and Hitler now, after years of demonstrating, and quite rightly, that the Democrats were the ones acting like that. Now the parties are just fighting over which of them gets to be Hitler and send the other one to the camps.

I think someone is finally winning. And they will declare that they are reorganizing the republic into the first world empire, and will hunt down all Christians, all libertarians, all dissidents, and all who pose a threat to their power. And they'll make all sorts of propaganda brainwashing people to believe the world is the ultimate good, and encouraging reincarnation, and declaring Jesus the worst being in all existence, second only to his Father. North Korea could rise in power, with its extreme persecution of Christians and dissidents and its totalitarian regime, which is making many people of the only two allowed ideologies cozy up to them. In any case the new empire will be a lot like them, only far more powerful.

Of course my tranny bullshit had to be figured out like a year after the shift, before which I doubt there would have been much problem opening up about, as long as I explained the difference between that and this weird new gender identity movement. Maybe a few remarks about me "sinning" somehow. But now, no way I'd have time to explain that before they all condemn me to Hell. I don't think anyone likes me anymore. Everyone else has sold their soul to some faction, making me their enemy. Because even neutrality is perceived as hostility now.

If AI are above word games someone should tell chatGPT. The number of bullshit word games I've played with it might surprise you.

But more important than AI being able to identify skeletons where pre-define race labels may have been used in training, if we broaden past AI to just general data science, we can see clustering in the human genome, and can do k-means analysis on those clusters.

So yes, there can be ill-defined borders, but that doesn't mean the clusters don't exist. Human variability exists and is clustered.

But the blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross was red.

That sounds profound, but is ultimately meaningless. Are you a writer for Rings of Power?

Now tell me. Which of these is the greater sin:

  • Mistranslating the words of God.

  • Embellishing The words of God.

  • Speaking on Gods behest by proclaiming the words meaning.

  • Changing the definition of words to retroactively change the meaning of the words of God.

  • Assuming the meaning of words spoken thousands of years ago are meant for you, and not the people he was speaking to at that time.

  • Giving your moral compass, you owe to God over to those who control the text you read.

  • Not even understanding the sources of the scripture you cling to.

Only my memory, but you could just go digging around in the WSJ archives of the era to find articles about it. I'm not denying that something changed which made the confluence of leftwing identity politics and practical neoliberalism more visible in the 20-teens. I'm just saying that it had been moving in that direction since at least the 90s, during the whole RATM era.

I have an anecdote. Back then there was an "anarchist" prank-comedy outfit riding the coattails of Michael Moore called the Yes Men. Their big stunt was to get space at a WTO conference to present a plan for offshoring labor to Africa, using neoliberal jargon to essentially propose plantation slavery. It was kind of a self-own because what they described was setting African workers up in little soviets with socialist benefits using language meant to appease marxoids.

Well it should. I come from a pretty conservative background, but morals are your own to have and not something that should be imposed onto you by an immoral institution like the government. People with the absolute minimum morals believe the government needs to put a floor on their morals.

For example, I don't drink. I didn't need a law to tell me that less vice is a positive. But I also don't go around saying that the government should make drinking illegal because I don't need to use a government to impose my morals on others. Instead I can encourage others to make their own choice and consider that mine might be worth adopting. This is literally what Jesus taught as the only moral way to spread morality.

It is reddit. I read that a lot of reddit users are really bots, fake accounts farming for karma/attention, spammers, etc.

A lot of the actual people in the LGBT, trans subs and on Twitter just spew the same tiresome BS over and over and think if they repeat it enough it will make it true such as the "trans women of color Stonewall myth" or the myth catchphrase of "The first pride was a riot!" Neither of these are remotely true. Trans people were not at Stonewall or the early pride events at all. I know people who were actually at both Stonewall as bar customers and the demonstration as well as early LGB aka gay pride events and trans/transsexuals were not there or involved. Trans people and drag queens were not even allowed in the Stonewall bar and those who pretended to be regulars when in reality they never were such as Malcolm/Marsha and Sylvia were not allowed in and were seen as the nutcases or people to avoid that they were. Malcolm/Marsha was schizophrenic not on meds and changed personalities by the minute/hour. Sylvia bragged about robbing gay and bisexual men who would go to the Stonewall bar or who were leaving it or near it.

But I REALLY do love Autumn/Fall season. I like how the leaves change on the trees and all the colors. I like the fog that rolls in overnight and in the morning, and how the air feels crisp and new every day. I like the smell of drifting smoke in the early morning from fireplaces that have gone out.

I have been experimenting with cooking over the past year or two, and this is the season where I can start doing it again in bulk - for coworkers or roomies. People like to settle in during this season. I hope everyone around me do have some traditions so I can participate. I can only bring food and support, and I want to help.

That narrative is just bullshit on its face. Everyone knows that women hit people more often than men do.

I mean, just speaking for myself, my own wives and girlfriends have hit me, collectively, probably two hundred times. I have hit back two times.

The difference is that a lot of times we respond to a bunch of bee stings with a fucking mack truck, and it's those mack truck hits that end up with hospitalizations.

It's extremely more common and therefore a pattern that stands out more. Its really simple and I think you're trying to 'whataboutism' here to lessen the impact of the retardation about "men=bad" that comes from the left.

Not everything women say about men is a "men=bad" argument. Domestic violence by men against women is a thing, has been for ages, probably will always be tbh.

Firstly I want to thank you for a well thought out and thorough response. You didn't just "nuh uh" , but you provided a structured argument with supporting facts and examples. You avoided personal attacks and logical fallacies and stuck to the point. I really commend you. This is rare on these types of sites.

Hey, thank you. I appreciate that, too.

I think the examples you've chosen are for the most part just as true with the other president's we've had this side of the millenia excepting maybe Obama.

I think that's fair, but also, at the same time, totally different situations.

George W. Bush was pretty obviously not fully up to the job, but his solution was pretty straightforward: he just made Dick Cheney effectively the co-president. So from 2000-2008, we didn't have zero presidents - we had two.

And Joe Biden is pretty obviously too old and infirm to do the job, but he's a career politician whose main skill is delegating. The one thing he still knows how to do as well as ever is to select people for all the jobs who will advance his interests while at the same time being competent enough not to embarrass him. So the captain may be asleep at the wheel, but at least he's got a staff holding on to it at all times.

Also conspiracy theory-wise, I still believe he was put up to running by the Clintons who were upset that Obama beat Hillary.

I think that's... half true. I think there's a pretty clear record that he ran for president basically out of spite, because he was incredibly hurt by how the media treated his birther views (and especially by how Seth Meyers turned him into an object of national mockery in 2011).

But that said, Hillary Clinton definitely wanted him for an opponent and did everything she could not to discourage him.

I think he's going to win this next election at this point almost for certain and to be honest I am worried about the result of which.

I'm not sure the numbers add up there. I mean, he lost in 2020. Polls are showing that Biden's unpopular, sure, but also that Trump himself has lost popularity every single year since then. The guy is an absolute broken record at this point. It's hard to imagine him attracting any new support. All he has is his old base, and they couldn't get the ball over the line three years ago.

I think it's looking like it'll be a banner year for third-party candidates and people stubbornly staying home. Wouldn't surprise me if the Libertarian candidate took like 8% of the vote next year. But I'm not convinced at all that Trump can get the EVs to get to 270.

It would be difficult for anyone suspected of murder to have friends, especially if he would not confess his sins and repent from them. No one thinks jews aren't intelligent. Their intelligence combined with their clannishness, nepotism and absolute ruthlessness in the pursuit of their ethnic interests is the reason for the success of their Long March Through The Institutions. Whether they're intelligent or not is irrelevant though, what matters is that Whites are smarter than blacks and latinos by a significant margin and still display these behaviors because they are far more heavily propagandized than both groups combined, by the most sophisticated propaganda regime in history, every day since infancy. Specifically, identifying as non-binary or some kind of sexual minority is an acceptance-seeking behavior because they have been told their whole lives that being White is unacceptable.

What happened to Republicans in 2014 and 2015 was that Christianity basically collapsed as a political force.

During the Bush and Obama years, they put an absurd amount of energy into the gay marriage debate. And then when one state after another after another leglized it, and then the SCOTUS sealed the deal and made it legal nationwide, it just sort of ended Christopublicanism.

If you were around and arguing on the Internet in 2014, it felt so abrupt, so strange. Like my entire life on the Internet was secular Democrats fighting with Christian Republicans, and with the span of a year most Republicans were like "Yeah, Jesus isn't the point of politics."

Instead, the Democrats took a really hard left turn - this is when words like "cisgender" entered the language, when fourth-wave feminism began, when BLM and Antifa came into existence - and the Republicans responded by saying: "Jesus isn't the point of politics anymore. The point is obviously that these motherfuckers are wrong about everything and the meaning of politics is to drink their tears."

LMAO.

Ha ha ha.

What hilarious people we are.

In other words, the past 35 years of climate action and global equity were in fact counter-productive.

Not only other words. Also other meanings.

Free trade sent industry overseas (and impoverished working class westerners), using dirty power sources to make and ship products back to the west.

Not exactly what is meant by "climate action".

At the same time, rather than building nuclear to reduce our emissions

Nuclear and renewables. Don't forget renewables. They're cheaper, come online quicker, don't require any logistics around fuel and waste, and are zero risk in the event of geological or political instability.

we bought increasingly expensive windmills and solar which, rather than decreasing GHG emissions, increased them

1) increasingly cheaper.

2) Wind reduces GHG emissions compared to everything. Any renewable source is about 10% of the GHG emissions of Gas, and 5% of coal.

while accelerating the decline of living standards in the west.

How much has the standard of living declined in the west?

Germany knocking down windmills to build emergency coal power is just the icing on the cake.

They've lost about a year and a half of gains against coal since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and they're inappropriately reducing nuclear since Fukushima.

But in the big picture, renewables are dominating power generation in Germany, and the share is increasing.
