it's especially important to have moments or periods of silence

I totally agree with that. The world with its hustle and bustle tries to take away the inner peace and calm, those moments where we can reflect on what is inside of us. People complain that God is either not real or does not talk to them, not realizing that he talks to them through their conscience every day. Everyone knows what is right and wrong, because the spark of God's spirit within their heart tells them. When we make time for quiet, we can receive valuable thoughts from the spiritual realm (including angels) that guide us to make good choices. If people do not stop to be quiet, then the world itself with its demands propels the person through a meaningless life where their activities are vain and worthless in the beyond.

You were the one who introduced me to this old film which was uploaded to YouTube by a Luciferian, someone who calls what is evil good and good evil. But they probably know more than the average person how fake this world is, because they are slaves to the father of lies himself. It is ironic and sad that they know that their master is a liar, but they don't stop and realize that he has lied to them, too. He will not honor promises made to his slaves once they have forfeited their own souls. Their master will never let them be free. Jesus is the one who came to give liberty to the captives.

This concern about rally sizes is of course an obsession with Trump that Harris was able to use against him in the debate, and that Obama addressed at the DNC. But turned out to be true, which is sort of the whole problem with letting the government decide what is and isn't misinformation. They can't be trusted to do that. Even with the best intentions there will be mistakes, and they're politicians, you can't assume they have the best intentions. I'm pretty sure nobody wants Trump, for instance, determining what is fake news for everyone else.

Believe it or not, I agree with many of your posts, but this comment about government control we disagree on. One form of misinformaiton spreading from Musk, Trump, wealthy PACs, Breitbart and many far right groups is that the 1st Amendment should apply to all forms of free speech, when that is obviously false. The details of what's not protected under the 1st Amendment are here. That would be part of a long discussion, but the bit we should clarify is that many forms of misinformation are of course protected, whereas misinformation that causes violence, significant injury (& the spread of COVID) and death is of course not protected by US law. The broad generalization is false that meanies in the 'government' cannot be trusted to determine which kinds of misinformation are dangerous. US courts of law interpret the US law on this matter. Censorship of speech has not happened in the manner you suggest. Everyone online had the ability to spread lies about Biden's laptop, or theories about the COVID lab leak. Your complaint is with news media, Reddit mods, and others who censored some of those theories when there was no verifiable evidence of the accuracy of those theories.

Regarding COVID, there were widespread reports that increased in number over a period of months claiming that it was leaked from a lab. That information was gradually uncensored because of the plausibility of the theory. Regarding Biden's laptop, everyone's had direct access to his cloud data that Russian hackers provided at Trump's request. That data was not censored, though reliable news media would not discuss this data, as it was easily manipulated by a 3rd party before it was made available.

Why not not have a problem to begin with? People with the means to make it here (the more capable of haitians) are also the most capable of fixing their country. We've done harm to the 99.9% still there by removing them. If they are such good model citizens can't they be model citizens there to help lift Haiti out of its troubles?

Those resources will be necessary forever. As they reproduce the problem will not go away. Assuming a discount rate of 3.5% that costs $71.43 million in net present cost.

How many migrants are we talking about? That would tell us the cost per migrant for importing them just in policing. Never mind housing once jailed, welfare, cost on victims, never fully restored community value.

When you count the expected welfare it's easy for each additional migrant to cost society above 1 million dollars.

The perspective of this chart is mildly misleading since there aren't enough transwomen for there to be a million in jail, so you have to expand the relative number (per million) instead of simplifying it. I think a more cogent observation would be that even the ones not in jail for sex offenses are in jail for commonly related offenses, almost entirely drug, theft, and domestic violence. There is a pathological similarity to all of them.

I've met a lot of 'genuine' people. I look for that in others.

I'd agree that everyone should consider what they and others are trying to project or represent. Our lives are constructions, narratives, that we develop for professional and personal reasons. Hence I think it's especially important to have moments or periods of silence, merely to listen, to meditate on listening. Some say God comes to you in those moments. It's something the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) believe. Whatever it is, it can be very informative, offering a view of the self that we often don't see or understand. It's also a way of seeing what one is constructing of or for one's self, what one projects.

[–]flugegeheimen 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

She'd clearly prepared responses to likely ones, but right off the bat, the first question was "When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?", and she gave her economy response with was to the a question more like: "How do your economic policies in the coming term compare with Trump's"

I don't see any connection of this example with a "She didn't look like she had the questions first" fantasy. The question is tricky and she is weaseling out of it to lead away from an uncomfortable topic. No reason to believe it wasn't prepared in advance, knowing the question beforehand.

So the claim of cheating doesn't hold water.

ABC's official denial doesn't disprove the claim in any way, because the claim isn't that ABC officially confirmed handing the questions to Harris.

They were both fact-checked, to the extent that checking could be done in real time. The difference is trump lies all the time.

You are lying (yet again). The proof is simple: Harris lied all the time during the debate, show me where ABC moderators fact-checked her.

Not receiving a list of questions isn't a qualification to be president. What the fuck are you smoking?

I mean you are not wrong that inability to debate impromptu doesn't disqualify someone from being a President, but you somehow managed to spoil that technically correct point by listing a bunch of equally or more irrelevant things on your own. The only meaningful part of your list is "She isn't in noticeable cognitive decline (she is not Biden)".

The special prize is for "She'll put her country before herself." which is the dumbest shilling bullshit in this thread. I rate it 0.23 YoMamma.

Really? Free speech in general is what's protected in the US. Totalitarians attempt to limit that free speech by flooding news and social media with lies that encourage election interference, violence &c that limit access to the free speech and human rights of others. These latter forms of speech are not permitted in the 1st Amendment.

ABC denies this

Oh, this changes everything. If ABC denied it then it can't be true.

why would Trump refuse to debate Harris again?

Debate where? I suppose it was tough enough to bait Harris to debate in her own 250%-partizan propaganda channel. There is no way next debate (if it happened) would be on neutral ground and now we know exactly what pathetic shit show can be put up when the debate platform is completely shameless in cheating to support one of the candidates.

Wow.

Americans are completely enslaved, insane, and retarded now.

Americans do not know history, cannot recognize hypocrisy, and do not understand unintended consequences.

Americans make up any fact to fit their narrative and never offer any proof.

Americans will look you in the eye and say that North America was uninhabited in 1491.

Americans think that the USA never had churches before today.

Americans scream that the Bill of Rights was repealed by the Organic Act of 1872.

Americans insist that the US had TSA groping in 1880.

American swear that no one died during WWII and the USA has never bombed Vietnam.

Americans say 100% of the US debt is owed to China and the entire US budget is used to pay for food stamps.

Americans say Obama was an evil monster for supporting wars, debt, and tyranny, but Trump was a holy god for embracing wars, debt, and the police state.

Americans need to prepare for the collapse now because you'll be too late to get ready if you wait until the stock market crashes, the ATM machines shut down, the Internet, water, and electricity goes down, there are starving looters, riots, concentration camps open, Civil War 2.0 starts, and WWIII breaks out.

Buy guns, ammo, gold, and food and get out of the cities today.

Take this seriously.

Falsehoods can't have a free reign when they're using that to cause death and property damage.

In the case of the UK riots, you most people would agree on the arbitration of the posts not being true. They said that it was a muslim man who arrived by boat who was guilty of the stabbing killings of the three girls. Given that it was a christian boy who was born in the UK, there's no real question about it being false.

Many things have been falsely branded "misinformation" by the intelligence agencies, captured government and corporate news outlets, the Hunter Biden laptop and Covid lab leak just to name a recent few.

Those sound like misinformation.

I find it more than a little ironic that you're on a free speech website like Saidit arguing for the suppression and censorship of speech.

Read the Saidit values. This isn't a free speech website, it's a rational discussion website.
